Baker and Barista
About This Spot
Stepping into Baker and Barista feels like entering a quietly curated corner of Miami’s vibrant bakery scene, where modern minimalism meets an inviting warmth. The space balances sleek concrete surfaces with wooden stools and subtle, thoughtful details that immediately suggest a place crafted with care and an eye for quality. There’s a gentle hum of conversation and the soft clinking of coffee cups that create a relaxed rhythm — a welcome respite from the busy neighborhood streets outside.
The pace here is unhurried, encouraging visitors to linger over carefully pulled espresso shots and the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread. It’s the kind of spot where the attentive staff’s quiet expertise makes you feel genuinely looked after, without the need for fanfare. The atmosphere feels intimate yet open, striking a balance between a casual neighborhood gathering place and a thoughtful space to savor simple pleasures.
The menu unfolds not just as a list of offerings but as an invitation to experience small, soulful moments: buttery croissants that unveil layers of delicate flakiness, cinnamon rolls beckoning with their just-right balance of sweetness and spice, and espresso crafted with precision that speaks to a deep respect for coffee traditions. The presence of distinctive items like cardamom buns and focaccias hints at a blend of cultural influences, reflecting the heritage behind the owners’ Macedonian and Italian roots. This makes every bite and sip feel like a personal discovery, an everyday luxury made tangible.
Beyond the food and drink, it’s the subtle attentiveness that lingers—from the crisp cleanness of the ice in the cold brews to the thoughtfully chosen napkins—that brings a quiet joy to the experience. Baker and Barista is less about loud statements and more about the quiet conversations, the satisfied smiles shared over a perfectly steamed flat white, and the small rituals of morning and afternoon breaks done right.

Such a lovely little breakfast spot in the area! They have a great selection of pastries—everything looked (and tasted) amazing—and their coffee was delicious. They also offer focaccias, which looked incredible, but we didn’t get a chance to try them this time. We went on a Thursday morning and it was already pretty busy, so I can only imagine how packed it gets on the weekends. It’s definitely a small space with limited seating, so plan accordingly. But if you’re craving good coffee, sweet treats, and cozy vibes, it’s absolutely worth the stop.

This coffee shop nails the little things. The minimal, concrete vibe with wood stools and a sleek counter feels modern yet warm, and the staff are excellent. The ice in the coffee is crisp and clean, showing their attention to quality. But what amazed me most were the napkins—a small detail, yet chosen with such care that it speaks volumes about the shop’s thoughtfulness. When even the napkins impress you, you know every part of the experience has been considered.

I literally think they have the most perfect tasting food & coffee of any coffee shop I’ve ever been to. The owners come from Macedonia and Italy and they truly care about the quality of every menu item! Just as important, the vibe is so cozy and friendly. Truly 10/10 kind of place! P.S try the cinnamon rolls and thank me later!

The pizza was fabulous and the cinnamon rolls were quite good! However, the matcha wasn’t great it tasted like a sweetened pre-made mix rather than real ceremonial matcha. Also, I personally prefer when cafés serve drinks in glass cups instead of paper or plastic ones.

The Astetic of this place is amazing! Attention to detail on everything as well as a very warm and helpful staff. My favorite was the roasted tomato pesto danish. We shared all the food so we get to try it and we can’t complain. Coconut cold foam Matcha and the coconut cold foam cold brew are amazing. Can’t wait to come back

Wow this place is awesome. The egg and Za’tar danish blew me away. The best pastry I’ve had in a long time. Great matcha latte! I also had a macchiato which was perfect, like actually perfect. The staff was warm and hospitable. Can’t say enough good things

It has taken me a long time to come to terms with the fact this is best bakery in the united states. I am a bakery lover. I have been to countless bakeries around the country and world to find the best and how lucky am I to have found the best bakery in the country a few miles away from my home (am i lucky or does the universe just want me to gain weight?). The croissants are the best I’ve ever had. I don’t know what they put in the dough, but it is phenomenal. I went over the weekend and they had cardamom buns which I had been looking forward to for weeks because there is no cardamom buns in the United States that are worth having quite frankly. Now these are worth having. I wanted to gate keep so bad but I can’t anymore. Baker and Barista deserves all the hype and more.

Baker and Barista is a gem in every sense of the word!!!! Nestled towards the latter end of Design District- I recommend parking at paradise plaza and walking over because it's well worth it! The vanilla latte was excellent, as well as the smores drink! My highlight was the amazing olive oil cake- wooooooooooooooow. The team was so friendly and welcoming- this place is a staple and you can tell everything is made with love!!! We need more places like this in Miami. Baker and Barista, Godspeed ahead!!!! Thank you for the awesome experience.
